How to Fix “We cannot send a text message” on Twitter

Last Updated on January 1, 2024 By Arsalan Rauf

Are you facing a “We cannot send a text message to this phone number” error on Twitter?

The next part of the error is, “because its operator is not supported”.

2-factor authentication on Twitter gives you an additional security on your account.

However, if your mobile phone is lost or you are not getting messages, you won’t be able to access your account.

If you’ve enabled 2-factor authentication, you will be asked to enter a code when you try to sign in.

You’ll get the code via text message and it is imperative to have an internet connection.

However, many users are not receiving the code even though their phone number is valid.

In this article, I will tell you how to fix “We cannot send a text message to this phone number because its operator is not supported” on Twitter.

Why can’t Twitter send me a text message?

Twitter can’t send you a text message (2-factor authentication code) because 40404 number is blocked by you.

A 40404 is number by Twitter, so, unblock it in order to get messages from Twitter.

According to the Twitter team, they are familiar with the problems users are having with requesting and receiving codes.

If you have not blocked the number but you still are not getting codes, the error is from Twitter’s side.

Here’s a Tweet from @TwitterSupport this year, “We’re looking into the few cases where SMS codes aren’t being delivered”.

Users are showing that in the comments and most of them reported that they experience issue with receiving codes.

“I haven’t received the SMS confirmation code for over 5 days now”.

“Hey @TwitterSupport, my account is still pending for SMS codes, but they are still not arriving”.

“My Twitter access is gone due to lack of access to 2FA. Please help @TwitterSupport”.

How to fix “We cannot send a text message” on Twitter

To fix “We cannot send a text message” on Twitter, the first step is to unblock 40404 numbers or all of your blocked contacts.

After unblocking your contacts, try to send the code once again.

On the other hand, the 2FA can be turned off on a device that’s already logged in to Twitter.

If you’re still not getting the 2FA code, the best thing is to contact Twitter or wait until the problem is solved from their end.

According to Twitter, they are aware of the issue and are actively working to solve it.

If the previous ways do not work, you should contact Twitter to remove 2FA for you.

Fix 1: Unblock phone numbers

Here are the steps on How to unblock phone numbers on iOS:

  1. Go to the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select “Phone”.
  3. Choose “Blocked Contacts”.
  4. Tap on “Edit” and tap on the “-” icon on 40404 numbers or all numbers.
  5. Go to Twitter again and try sending the code again.

Here are the steps on how to unblock phone numbers on Android:

  1. Go to the Phone app.
  2. Tap on the three dots icon.
  3. Tap on “Settings” with “Blocked numbers”.
  4. Select the “X” icon next to “Unblock” on 40404 numbers or all numbers.
  5. Go to Twitter and try to send the code once again.

Fix 2: Turn off 2FA on a device that’s currently Signed in to Twitter

  1. Go to Twitter on a device that’s now logged in to Twitter (for instance, if you’re still signed in to Twitter on your laptop from twitter.com, you can still able to access your account).
  2. Visit Settings and support > Settings and privacy > Security and account access.
  3. Security > Two-factor authentication > Turn off “Text message/Authentication app/Security key”.

Note: If you have a device that’s currently logged in to Twitter including a laptop, computer/PC, or tablet), the 2FA can be turned off.

Fix 3: Contact Twitter support

  1. Visit this URL: https://help.twitter.com/en/forms/account-access/regain-access/2fa-problem (or access the Twitter Help Center and find “2FA”).
  2. Enter your Twitter username and email address.
  3. Tell them that you’re not getting the confirmation/verification code and you want to access your account and you need their assistance.
  4. Submit the form and wait for a few days to get a response from Twitter.

Note: The support Twitter can take a few days to respond to you as they get a lot of requests.

Why is Twitter Blue Not Showing?

Last Updated on November 16, 2022 By Arsalan Rauf

Is Twitter Blue not showing, not working, or missing or not available on the app?

Twitter launched this feature in June 2021, but a lot of users are not able to subscribe to it.

You can access or locate the feature by tapping on your profile picture available on the application and you will see a “Twitter Blue” tab.

However, the tab is missing and not visible to a lot of people.

Even if you are using the latest version of their application, you will not be able to find it.

In this post, I will guide you on why is Twitter Blue not showing up on the app, missing, or not working, and how to fix it.

Why is Twitter Blue not showing?

Twitter Blue is not showing because the option is not available in your country or region yet.

According to the Twitter Help Center, Twitter Blue is only available for limited (selected) countries.

The countries that are enjoying the option are the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

If you are not in any of those countries, you cannot subscribe to Twitter Blue.

Just remember that new features are available to subscribers when they are available.

Therefore, some features might not available on twitter.com or launched on the mobile application.

How to fix Twitter Blue not showing

To fix Twitter Blue not showing, the best bet is to update the app to the newest version.

This process will only work if you are a resident of the US, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

If you are out of those countries, you can do nothing but wait until the feature is released in your country.

The reason behind it is that Twitter Blue is under testing.

The feature is the same as Snapchat Plus, which only certain countries can use it.

Currently, there is no “ETA” given by Twitter that when will they release it globally.

That is why you have to use the free version of the app and no premium features will be available to you.

To get additional information about Twitter Blue, you can go to the Twitter Help Center.

This section contains frequently asked questions about the feature like how much it costs, what features are included in it, and so on.

How to Turn Off or On Captions on Twitter Videos

Last Updated on August 26, 2022 By Arsalan Rauf

Twitter released an update that shows captions/subtitles on videos.

When you watch a video, you will see the captions displayed at the bottom of the video.

To be continued

The feature is helpful when you’re not in a quiet place and you want to listen to the audio of the video.

However, they can cause irritation sometimes and as a result, you might want to turn them off.

For instance, captions (CC) might block the main parts of the video.

In this post, I will guide you on how to turn off or on captions on Twitter videos.

How to turn off captions on Twitter videos

  1. Go to Twitter and log in to your account.
  2. Go to the video where you want to turn off the captions.
  3. Now, tap on the “CC” icon.
  4. It will turn off the captions!

Most devices show the “CC” icon at the top right corner of a Twitter video.

To turn them off, you need to tap on them.

If you can’t find the icon, it indicates that captions are not available for you.

However, if the captions are still visible in the video, it shows that the editor has deliberately added them.

In this case, you won’t be able to remove them from that video.

How to turn on captions on Twitter videos

  1. Go to Twitter and log in to your account.
  2. Go to the video where you want to turn on the captions.
  3. Now, tap on the “CC” icon.
  4. It will turn on the captions!

The “CC” icon is needed to turn on captions on Twitter videos.

If the “CC” icon is not visible, it means that the feature is not rolled out to your region yet.

Only a limited number of users have the option.

You can use another method to enable captions (for iOS users) is to visit your accessibility settings.

You need to select “Subtitles & Captioning” from your accessibility settings, and turn on “Closed Captions + SDH”.

This setting will also enable CC or subtitles for the deaf or difficulty in hearing.

It can also be done on Android devices as well.

300+ Good, Aesthetic, Cool Twitter Usernames

Last Updated on April 29, 2023 By Arsalan Rauf

If you want to create a new account on Twitter, the first step is to come up with a username.

It can be a hard nut to crack to choose a Twitter username because you cannot choose a name that is already taken.

It is almost impossible to find a username that is not taken on Twitter due to its more than 200 million users.

However, but there are still some cool Twitter usernames available, you just need to go through the post for this.

I highly recommend that you choose the same social media usernames for every platform.

If you are unable to produce a new username, you can always select the username you have selected for other social media sites.

There is a great chance that you will be able to use the usernames that you are using on existing social media platforms.

This post has good, cool and aesthetic Twitter usernames for girls and boys and almost all of them are not taken.

You will also come to know whether usernames on Twitter are unique or how to pick a good Twitter name.

Are Twitter usernames unique?

Yes, Twitter uses unique usernames on the site.

In short, you cannot use the same username as someone else is already using on Twitter.

If your selected username is not available, you can add “hey”, “sup”, “the”, “its” in front of it.

In addition, you can also add underscore or numbers to it to make it unique.

You should consider using these tactics if the username is already used by anyone.

I personally do not recommend numbers and underscores because it will make your username complicate.

How to pick a cool Twitter name?

The first step to pick a cool Twitter name is to use your own full name for your Twitter name.

The process will enable your friends to find you with ease and they just have to put your name in the search engine of Twitter.

There are a number of users who use their real name as their Twitter name.

If you do not want to use your name and want to use a cool name so you can also go with an acronym or your nickname.

How to Turn Off “This Tweet might include sensitive content” on Twitter

Last Updated on May 18, 2023 By Arsalan Rauf

Did you recently see an error message that displays, “This Tweet might include sensitive content” on Twitter and do you want to fix it?

If yes, you might be wondering why you got the error.

Social media platforms such as Reddit, and Instagram, posting NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content might result in a ban.

Twitter has allowed its users to post NSFW content unlike most social media sites.

However, if you’re posting NSFW media, the ideal way is to mark them as sensitive using the safety and privacy settings.

Therefore, if you see a tweet that is marked as sensitive, it means that this user is post Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content on regular basis.

But how can you remove the error message?

In this post, I will tell you why you got the error message, how to turn on/off sensitive content on Twitter, and so on.

Why does Twitter say this Tweet might include sensitive content?

Twitter says this Tweet might include sensitive content because the media they tweet is marked by the user as it may have material that may be sensitive.

Anyone on Twitter who posts NSFW content has to mark the media they tweet as sensitive content.

Otherwise, you will be at risk of getting suspended from the platform.

On your Twitter account, you can find this safety setting in the privacy and safety settings.

It can be found by going to Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Safety > Mark media you tweet as containing material that may be sensitive.

If someone marks their media tweets as sensitive, there is a great chance that they are posting NSFW content on a regular basis.

Therefore, the error message is to prevent users from watching something that they don’t want to see.

Anyway, you have got the option that allows you to change that setting by turning it on/off in your privacy and safety settings.

Go to the next section to find out how.

How to turn off “This Tweet might include sensitive content” on Twitter

Why can’t I see sensitive content on Twitter?

You can’t see sensitive content on Twitter because you have turned off the settings for “Display media that may contain sensitive content”.

People who post NSFW content on Twitter will mark their tweets as sensitive content.

If the “Display media that may contain sensitive content” option is turned on, you cannot see the media which are marked as sensitive.

How do I see sensitive content on the Twitter app?

To see sensitive content on the Twitter app, your step is to turn on the “Display media that may contain sensitive content” setting.

You can do it via the “Content you see” setting.

However, this setting can be found if you’re on the web version of Twitter.

On the other hand, if you are on the Twitter app from a mobile device, you won’t be able to find it.

Final Words

Certain content on Twitter can be NSFW, so Twitter has allowed its users to mark the media that they tweet as sensitive.

If you want to view sensitive media on Twitter, you should tick the box for “Display media that may contain sensitive content” on the “Content you see” setting.

As a result, the “This Tweet might include sensitive content” error will be removed entirely.

However, if you don’t want to see sensitive media, you should uncheck the box.

How to Find Deleted Tweets on Twitter

Last Updated on July 23, 2022 By Arsalan Rauf

To find Deleted tweets on Twitter, the best way is to go to Wayback Machine and enter the URL of the Twitter user.

After entering the URL of the Twitter user, check the dates before the tweet was removed, scroll down, and find the deleted tweet.

You can visit the old version of the website by using a tool known as the Wayback Machine.

If you know the link of a website, type it into the search bar and click on the “Browse History” button.

You can browse the archived version of the site by selecting the date range.

You need to keep in mind that if the Twitter account of that person is private or the account is new one, the Wayback Machine may not have archived their tweets.

Here is a step by step guide to find deleted tweets on Twitter:

#1: Go to Wayback Machine & Open it

The first thing you need to do is to go to Wayback Machine.

Go to Google search engine, search for the terms “Wayback Machine” and click on the first search result.

On the other hand, you can go to the tool on this URL: https://web.archive.org/.

Wayback Machine enables you to see the looks of websites in the past.

For instance, if you want to see what Twitter looked like in 2011, you can search for “Twitter.com” and click on “2011”.

It can also be used to find deleted tweets on Twitter (if the tweet was archived) by using the URL of the user.

However, the Twitter profile should not be private for the tool to work.

#2: Enter the URL/Link of the Twitter user

After opening the Wayback Machine, the next thing is to enter the URL of the Twitter user into the search bar.

For instance, if you want to see Elon Musk’s deleted tweets, you need to copy the link to Elon Musk’s Twitter profile first.

It can be done by going to his profile on Twitter, highlighting the URL, and pressing “CTRL” + “C” on your keyboard to copy it.

After copying the link of the Twitter user (for example, Elon Musk), go back to Wayback Machine and paste it into the search bar.

Here is the link of Elon Musk’s Twitter profile: https://www.twitter.com/elonmusk.

The last part of the URL is always the Twitter username of the person.

After doing so, click on “Browse History” in order to start browsing the archive of that Twitter profile.

Just remember that the Wayback Machine is ideal for famous people on Twitter.

The reason behind it is that the profile of renowned people on Twitter get crawled more often than someone who does not have too many followers.

Having said that, even if the person does not even have 1,000 followers on Twitter, their profile will still be crawled.

#3: Visit the date and time before the tweet was deleted

After clicking on “Browse History”, it will take you to the calendar.

The calendar has multiple colored dots.

Blue indicates that the web server result code the crawler got for the capture was good (2xx).

Green shows that the crawlers obtained a redirect status code (3xx).

Red indicates that the crawler saw a server error (5xx).

A bigger dot tells that there are more snapshots.

Alternatively, a smaller dot shows that there are fewer snapshots.

Now, your task is to click on the estimated date and time before the tweet was removed.

For instance, if the tweet was posted on 10 March, you need to click on the “10 March” dot.

If the tweet was posted at 12 am but was deleted at 1 pm, you need to go to a snapshot after 12 am but before 1 pm.

If you don’t remember the exact date and time that the tweet was posted or deleted, the only thing you can do is to use the trial and error method.

Try guessing when the tweet was posted before it was deleted and select the date and go for it.

#4: Scroll down and find the deleted tweet

After clicking on the estimated date and time before the tweet was removed, it will take you to the person’s Twitter profile.

After doing so, now, click on “Tweets & replies” to see all of the tweets of the person and replies.

You will not be able to see their replies but can see the tweets of the person.

In the end, you have to scroll down and find the deleted tweet.

After selecting the right date and time, you’ll be able to find the deleted tweet.

However, if you did not find the removed tweet, you should choose a different time and date.

If you are not successful, repeat the process.

I’ve managed to find one of Elon Musk’s deleted tweets that compared Trudeau to Hitler with the help of the Wayback Machine.

That tweet attracted a lot of criticism and attention from the media.

After the criticism, Elon Musk realized that the meme was a bit insensitive and removed it from his Twitter account.

Final Words

The phrase, “Once on the internet, always on the internet” is supported by the tools like the Wayback Machine.

Although you can find the deleted Tweets via the Wayback Machine, it’s not sane to cancel someone from a tweet that they posted years ago.

The process is making free speech difficult on social media sites such as Twitter everyone is worried about talking about their opinions even if they are true.

This is the reason why some people try to stay anonymous on Twitter by using a fake name.

If you want to prevent your tweets from archived, you can make your Twitter profile private by going to Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Audience and tagging > Protect your tweets.

How to Fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter

Last Updated on April 8, 2022 By Arsalan Rauf

Are you facing a “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter?

You get this error when you enter an invalid number on Twitter.

When you provide an invalid number, Twitter will not be able to send you a text message to your phone.

As a result, you will not get the verification code sent by Twitter to get rid of bots.

Sometimes, you get this error even if you enter a valid phone number.

However, there is a method to bypass it.

In this guide, I am going to teach you how to fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter so that you can create a Twitter account without a phone number.

How to fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter

To fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter, use your email for sign up process instead of your phone number.

You need to tap on “Use email instead” in order to use your email for sign-up process.

After entering your email address, you need to go through your email.

It is because Twitter will send you a 6-digit verification code to your email.

If you did not receive the verification code email from Twitter, you need to check spam and junk mail.

To verify your email, you need to enter the 6-digit verification code.

After verifying the email, follow the instructions on the screen to create your Twitter account.

It will ask you to create a password, upload a profile picture, edit your bio, and so on.

However, you can still skip most of these steps.

Here’s a step by step guide on how to fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter:

Step 1. Tap on “Use email instead”

First of all, you need to download the Twitter app on your android/mobile device.

The application of Twitter is available on the App Store or Google Play Store.

You can also sign up for a new account on Twitter using desktop by visiting their website.

After opening the website of Twitter, tap on “Sign up” to create a new account.

If you’re getting the “Please enter a valid phone number” error, the error means you have an invalid phone number.

In this case, use your email address for sign up process instead of your phone number.

In order to use your email, tap on “Use email instead”.

After tapping on the “Use email instead” option, the “Phone” field will change into an “Email” field.

Now, you can sign up for an account by using your email.

First of all, enter your name in the “Name” field.

Now, enter email address in the “Email” field.

You need to ensure that you are using a valid email address.

In the end, enter your date of birth in the “Date of Birth” field and tap on “Next” to move on to the next step.

Step 2. Check your email for a verification code

After tapping on next, Twitter will perform a check to ensure its validity.

If your name, email, and birthday are correct, the “Sign up” button at the bottom of the page will be available.

After going through the sign up process, you’ll automatically agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

To sign up for Twitter account, you need to tap on “Sign up”.

After tapping on the “Sign up”, a 6-digit verification code will be sent to your email.

To get started, check your email for the verification code.

If the email is not there, you need to check the spam and junk mails as it might have gone there.

The email will be like this, “abc is your Twitter verification code”.

Now, you need to open the email and copy the 6-digit verification code.

The next step is to verify your email by using the code.

Step 3. Enter the verification code

Now, the received code will help you to verify your email address.

You will use the 6-digit verification code that is sent to your email on the “We sent you a code” page.

You should have copied the verification code from the email.

Now, enter the 6-digit verification code on that page to verify.

After entering the code, tap on “Next” to verify your email address.

After verification of your email, you will be taken to “You’ll need a password” page.

You need to create a password in order to create a Twitter account.

Now, create a password in the “Password” field that contains 8 or more characters.

It is because the password contains less than 8 characters will not be acceptable.

After creating a new password, tap on “Next” to move on to the next step.

After creating a password, the next thing is to follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account creation.

The on-screen instructions are easy to follow and there are multiple of them.

First of all, you need to post/upload a profile picture.

You can skip this step by tapping on “Skip for now” available at the bottom of the page.

Next, your task is to add a bio in the “Your bio” field.

You can also skip this step by repeating the same process by tapping on “Skip for now”.

Twitter will also ask you to sync your contacts, select topics that you’re interested in(to show your interest-based content), follow some accounts.

In addition, Twitter will also ask to turn on notifications and choose a username.

Like the previous steps, you can also skip this step to do them later.

After going through and following the on-screen instructions, you will reach the homepage of Twitter.

I hope that you have learned how to fix “Please enter a valid phone number” on Twitter by signing up with your email!

Why does Twitter say my phone number is invalid?

Twitter says that your phone number is invalid because you are using an incorrect phone number.

Twitter cannot send you a verification code if you have entered an invalid phone number.

As a result, you cannot use the phone number that you have entered there.

You will have to use your email to sign up for a Twitter account instead.

How do I skip phone verification on Twitter?

To skip phone verification on Twitter, choose another option, tap on “Use email instead” for the sign up process.

After tapping on the “Use email instead” on the sign-up page, it will change the “Phone” field into an “Email” field.

Now, you can use your email to create a Twitter account instead of your phone number.

To begin with, enter your email in the “Email” field and tap on “Next”.

In the end, tap on “Sign up” and enter the 6-digit code that is sent to your email to get rid of phone verification.

Final Words

There are two options on Twitter to sign up for an account.

You can either use your phone number or email to create an account.

By default, Twitter will ask you to use your phone number to sign up rather than email.

However, you can use your email for sign up instead of your phone by tapping on “Use email” instead option.

It is an ideal choice for you if you do not have a phone number and you want to register an account on Twitter using the desktop version.

A lot of users are unaware of this feature which is why they are stuck on the signup page.

A temporary email address can also be used to register an account if you do not have an email.

It will help you to fix the invalid phone number or unsupported phone number error on Twitter.
