How to Fix Instagram Posts, Followers, Following Not Showing

March 2, 2023 By Arsalan Rauf Leave a Comment

Is your Instagram profile not showing your posts, followers, or following and do you want to fix it?

When you go to someone’s profile, Instagram app/site will show you their profile picture, name, and bio.

You will be able to see how many posts and followers they have, and the number of people they are following.

This information will be shown publicly—even if the user is using a private account.

In this article, I will tell you how to fix posts, followers, and following not showing, missing, or not working on Instagram.

Why is Instagram not showing posts, followers, and following?

Instagram is not showing posts, followers, and following due to a bug or glitch on the app.

You can also experience it when you’ve followed or unfollowed too many people in one go.

In this case, the information on your profile will be invisible for a while.

Because the followers and following list are hidden, it will restrict you from following or unfollowing users.

This measure is taken by the Instagram team to avoid spam, bots, or automation on the app.

In addition, your posts, followers and following can be hidden due to third-party apps so you have to remove them.

The reason behind it is that some third-party apps offer the tool to follow or unfollow people in one click.

In some cases, Instagram servers can go down and result in this issue, so you have to make sure that the app is not having outage from downdetector.com/status/instagram/.

How to fix Instagram posts, followers, following not showing

To fix Instagram posts, followers, or following not showing, you can download and use an older version of Instagram.

You can also start using Instagram on desktop or try to update the application.

If you are following or unfollowing too many people within seconds, or Instagram is facing outage, you have to wait for 2 days so the error will be gone.

Other troubleshooting methods can be used including reinstalling the app, force exiting the app and reopen it, or removing the app’s cache.

Solution 1: Download an older version of Instagram

  1. Remove the Instagram app.
  2. Visit this link by copying and pasting it: https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/.
  3. Select “Older versions”.
  4. Select an older version of the app.
  5. To download the APK, you need to select “Download”.

Note: This method can be used only on Android devices—if you’re an iPhone user, you need to try the other solutions below.

Solution 2: Update the Instagram app

  • Visit the App Store or Google Play Store which your device is supporting and search for “Instagram”.
  • To update it, select “Update”.
  • If there is no update available, revisit later to find out.

Solution 3: Use the desktop version of Instagram

  1. Visit instagram.com on a mobile browser or desktop web browser.
  2. Log in to your Instagram account.
  3. Visit your profile and inspect if your posts, followers, and following are shown.

Solution 4: Other troubleshooting methods

  • Wait for 24 to 48 hours: If you’ve followed/unfollowed too many people in one go or Instagram is not up, you need to wait for up to 2 days to see your posts/followers/following.
  • Force exit and reopen the app: Swipe up from the middle of your screen, swipe up on Instagram to force quit it, and open it again.
  • Clear the app’s cache: For Android users, follow these steps: Settings > Apps > Instagram > Storage > Clear Cache.
  • Remove the app and reinstall: Remove Instagram from your home screen and install it again from the App Store or Google Play Store.

How to Fix GIF Comment Option Not Showing on Instagram

February 23, 2023 By Arsalan Rauf

Instagram recently released a new feature that helps you to comment GIFs on a post.

These GIFs you use come directly from the GIPHY website.

GIPHY is a search engine that provides GIFs that is owned by Meta in May 2020, they acquired it.

Instagram will retrieve GIFS from GIPHY, all you need to do is search for them.

However, the feature is not rolled out to all the users and you might be thinking how to get it.

In this article, I will tell you why can’t you comment GIFs and how to fix the GIF comment option not showing, not working, or missing on Instagram.

Why can’t I comment GIFs on Instagram?

You can’t comment GIFs on Instagram because the feature is not available for everyone yet.

Instagram recently rolled out the feature to some users only.

A Reddit user shared a screenshot of a user who is using the GIF option.

Some users are using it because they got it and some of them do not have it yet.

Each time Instagram releases any new feature, they first test it.

The testing period can take weeks to months to complete.

For example, when Instagram first introduced Reels, the option was not rolled out in every country.

It took a few months of testing and after that, they launched it globally.

Same is the case with GIF comments feature on Instagram, they are testing it on the platform to check whether it increases the engagement or not.

If it increases it, the option will be launched on a global level.

How to fix GIF comment option not showing on Instagram

To fix the GIF comment option not showing on Instagram, the best bet is to update the app on the App Store or Google Play Store.

After updating the application, go to the comments section of an Instagram post and find out if you have the option.

Additionally, you have to inspect if there’s a “More” option under a GIF comment.

If the feature is present, you can choose the option, search for a GIF, and choose it to post it.

Otherwise, you have to wait until the feature is available globally.

The process can take weeks to months to fully roll out the option.

You will see many users on Twitter who are saying that the Instagram GIF feature is not working for them.

Here are some examples:

“How are people commenting GIFs on instagram”.

“Everybody using GIFs on Instagram but I can’t see them. It’s just blank!”

“You can add GIFs to comments on Instagram now, but I don’t have that option. Wow!”.

After going through different social media sites like Twitter, Reddit, I found that everyone does not have the post GIFs as comments feature.

Unfortunately, Instagram has not made it clear that when will they release the feature to everyone.

In fact, Instagram did not even release news related to the launch of the feature in a blog.

How to Comment GIFs on Instagram

February 23, 2023 By Arsalan Rauf

Instagram recently released a new feature which helps you to comment GIFs on a post.

These GIFs which you use come directly from the GIPHY website.

You can find any GIF by searching for it and Instagram will get it from GIPHY.

However, everyone is not capable of posting a GIF as a comment.

The reason behind it is that the option is not rolled out to everyone yet.

If you don’t have the option—you have to wait until it is available to you.

In this article, I will tell you what a GIF comment is and how to comment GIFs on Instagram under a post.

What is a GIF comment on Instagram?

A GIF comment on Instagram is a Graphics Interchange Format image that can be posted on the comments section of a post.

The GIF is retrieved from GIPHY which is a search engine launched by Meta.

Adding GIFs in Instagram comments is a new option launched by IG.

The feature was made available after the announcement of Mark Zuckerberg about the paid verification cost of Instagram that is, $12 per month.

It is similar to Twitter’s $8 per month verification subscription.

Posting GIFs as a comment is not new if you are a social media user, you might have seen it on other apps too.

For instance, 9GAG also has a feature that enables the users to comment on posts with GIFs.

On Instagram, everyone does not have the ability to comment GIFs.

The reason behind it is that the feature is not rolled out to everyone yet.

Currently, the team is testing the option to find out if it boosts engagement on the platform.

So, if you are not able to find it, the only way is to wait until it is released globally.

How to comment GIFs on Instagram

To comment GIFs on Instagram, go to the comments section of a post and select the “GIF” option beside the comment field.

After selecting the option, search for a GIF and choose it to post it.

If the “GIF” option is not available to you, you need to select the “More” option available under an existing GIF comment.

If both options are not available, you have to wait until it is available for you.

#1 Method: Select the “GIF” option

  1. Go to Instagram and visit the comments section of a post.
  2. Select “GIF” beside the comment field.
  3. Search for a GIF (for example, Tom) and select it to post it.

A limited number of Instagram users can also use GIF option for now.

If you have the option, it means that you are one of the lucky ones who can use it.

If you don’t have the option—update the Instagram app to find out if it is present.

Otherwise, the only option is to wait until it is released globally.

#2 Method: Select the “More” option

comment gifs instagram
  1. Go to Instagram and go to the comments section of a post.
  2. Select the “More” option available under an existing GIF.
  3. Then, tap on the “See all by creator” button.
  4. Search for a GIF (for example, Tom) and select it to post it.

Just keep in mind that not all comments have the “More” option.

If the “More” option is not available under every comment, the feature is not being tested in your account.
