In this article, I will tell you how to fix “Show additional replies, including those that may contain sensitive content” on Twitter/X.

What is “Show additional replies” on X?

Show additional replies on X means that the replies are deboosted and it will not be shown in the replies section.

Your reply can be deboosted when it is either marked as spam, sensitive, offensive or your account is shadowbanned.

If the account is shadowbanned, the system will mark all your replies as sensitive.

Consequently, the users can only view your replies if they scroll down to the bottom of replies section and choose “Show” to show additional replies.

It will decrease the reply impressions on X drastically as it will hide your replies from others.

How to fix “Show additional replies” on Twitter

To fix “Show additional replies” on Twitter, the best bet is to enable sensitive content on Twitter Web.

This feature will help you to see tweets that might contain NSFW text or media.

If your replies are marked as sensitive, you can fix it by unmarking the media you post as sensitive.

If your replies are deboosted, the only way to deal with it is by waiting for a few days to even weeks to get unshadowbanned.

Solution 1: Enable sensitive content on Twitter Web

  1. Visit the web version of (x.com) or Twitter and log in to your account.
  2. Follow these steps: More > Settings and Support > Settings and privacy.
  3. Privacy and safety > Content you see > Display media that may contain sensitive content.
  4. Lastly, enable “Display media that may contain sensitive content”.

Note: You need to restart the Twitter/X app in order to apply this change.

Solution 2: Unmark the media you post as sensitive

  1. Go to the Twitter/X app and log in to your account.
  2. Follow these steps: Tap on your profile picture > Settings and Support > Settings and privacy.
  3. Select “Privacy and safety” next to “Your posts”.
  4. Lastly, disable “Mark media you post as containing material that may be sensitive”.

Note: If your replies are still marked as sensitive—it indicates that the platform has deboosted your replies—in this case, the only way is to wait for a few days to weeks to get unshadowbanned.

In this article, I will tell you how to know or check if you are shadowbanned on Twitter/X on iOS, Android, or PC.

What is an X shadowban?

An X shadowban is a temporary ban from the platform that decreases your reach on it.

Shadowbans have different types including Search ban, Search Suggestion ban, Ghost Ban, Reply Deboosting, and so on.

Search bans will prevent your account from showing in the search results when someone searches for your name or username.

Your posts’ reach will be decreased from a ghost ban while reply deboosting will mark all of your replies as “sensitive content”.

Editor’s note: I had faced shadowbanned on X and I noticed that my reply impressions went from 500,000/day to close to zero—all of my replies were marked as “sensitive content” and hidden from others.

How to check if you are shadowbanned on Twitter

To check if you are shadowbanned on Twitter (now called X), use your secondary account and log into it, search for “from:username” and see if there are any search results.

If it does not show any search results, it indicates that you’re hard shadowbanned—the reach of your replies and posts are deboosted by the platform.

Other methods are searching for your username of your primary (main) account with your secondary account or checking the replies.

Another way to check it is by using X analytics to find out if there is a decrease in the number of impressions.

Editor’s note: Avoid using third-party tools to find out if you’re shadowbanned, they will not work and waste your time.

Solution 1: Search for “from:username”

  1. Use your details to log in to another account on Twitter/X.
  2. Search for “from:username” (for instance, from:arsalanrauf).
  3. If it does not show you any search results, it means that you’re hard shadowbanned.

Reason: There are multiple causes of a hard shadowban—your tweets are reported, violation of community guidelines, NSFW posts/replies, and so on.

Note: If you want to use this method, you should not be following your main account with your second account.

Solution 2: Check the replies using another account

  1. Go to Twitter/X to log in with another account.
  2. Go to that specific tweet that your main account recently replied to.
  3. Check if it shows you the reply from your main account.
  4. If you are not able to view your main account’s reply, scroll to the bottom of the comments section.
  5. Now, tap on “Show” in order to show additional replies.
  6. If you see the reply under additional replies, it means that your replies are deboosted.

Reason: You can face this ban when you reply too much or include NSFW text/media in your replies.

Note: If you want to use this method, you should not be following your main account with your second account.

Solution 3: Search for your username using another account

  1. Use your details to log in to another account on Twitter/X.
  2. Search for “from:username” (for instance, from:arsalanrauf).
  3. If it does not show your account in search results, it means that your account has a search ban.

Reason: You can get a search ban when your tweets contain NSFW content.

Note: If you want to use this method, you should not be following your main account with your second account.

Solution 4: Check your analytics on X

  1. Go to the web version of Twitter (x.com).
  2. Log in to Twitter/X with the details of the account that you think is shadowbanned.
  3. Follow these steps: Go to Home > More > Premium > Analytics.
  4. Select “Access your Post Analytics”.
  5. Now, compare your day-to-day impressions.
  6. If there is a huge drop in the number of impressions (for instance. from 500k to 10k), it might mean that you’re shadowbanned.

Editor’s note: My reply impressions went from 500k to almost zero in one day—I first found out about the shadowban when I saw that I did not receive new notifications on my replies such as likes, retweets, etc.

Therefore, you have to contact Instagram support to get help in recovering your account.

If you think that your account is hacked you need to do it.

However, it is a hard nut to crack to contact Instagram support because it is very difficult to reach them.

Recovering your account is also hard as well because it will ask you to verify your identity.

To complete the verification, you need to take a photo of yourself holding a code.

In this article, I will tell you how to recover your Instagram account without an email or phone number so that you can reset your password.

How to recover your Instagram account without email or phone number

To recover your Instagram account without email or phone number, you have to visit the “Get more help?” page.

After that, you can request support and you have to tap on “I can’t access this email or phone number”.

The “Request Support” form will be open by tapping on “I can’t access this email or phone number”.

The form will ask you to enter an email address that you want Instagram to use to contact IG.

After that, provide the email address that is associated with your Instagram account.

You have to complete a couple of questionnaires next to a description of your issue.

After submitting the form, you have to wait to get an email from Instagram.

The email will ask you to take a photo of yourself holding a code.

This process will help you to verify your identity and prove that you are the real owner of the Instagram account.

In the end, Instagram will send you an email that will contain a link to reset your password.

Here’s a step by step guide on how to recover your Instagram account without email or phone number:

Step 1. Go to “Get more help?”

First of all, go to Instagram and visit the login page.

If you are using your second account which is logged in, visit your profile and tap on your username.

After that, tap on “Add account” next to “Log In to Existing Account”.

After reaching the login page, tap on “Forgotten password?”.

The “Forgotten password?” link is available under the password field.

After tapping on “Forgotten Password?”, it will take you to the “Trouble with logging in?” page.

You will be able to either enter your username, email address, or phone number on that page.

Since you don’t have access to your email or phone number, you will only enter your username there.

First of all, in the “Username” field, you will enter your Instagram username.

If a hacker has hacked your account and changed your username on Instagram, you have to find your new username.

It can be done by going through your previous likes or the following list of people who follow you.

After that, you need to tap on “Need more help?” rather than “Next”.

Before you tap on “Need more help?”, you need to ensure that you have entered your Instagram username.

Otherwise, it will redirect you to the Instagram Help Center.

Step 2. Request support

After entering your Instagram username and tapping on “Need more help?”, it will take you to the “Help Us Recover Your Account” page.

The page will show you the email address that is associated with your Instagram account.

If the email address given is yours, you can use “Send Security Code” button and tap on it to send a security code to your email.

However, if it is not yours, it indicates that someone has changed the email.

As a result, you will not be able to send a security code to your email.

So, instead of using “Send Security Code” option, tap on “I can’t access this email or phone number”.

The “I can’t access this email or phone number” link will be available at the bottom of the page.

After tapping on “I can’t access this email or phone number”, it will take you to the “Request Support” form.

With this form, you can contact Instagram support to get help.

First of all, enter the email address that you want to use for Instagram contact.

Kindly use only email address that you have access to.

After that, enter the email address that is associated with your Instagram account.

After that, you will have to complete a couple of questionnaires.

The first question you need to answer is, “What type of account are you trying to access?”.

If you have a personal Instagram account, select the “Personal account with photos of me” option.

Otherwise, you can choose any option that is suitable for your account.

After that, the next question you need to answer is, “What is the reason for this request?”.

Since you no longer have access to the email that is associated with your Instagram account, you need to select the “I can’t log into the email on my account” option.

If your Instagram account is hacked, choose the “My account was hacked” option in that case.

After that, you need to describe the issue that you’re getting.

After submitting the form, the next step is to wait for Instagram’s response.

You will receive a reply via email from Instagram.

In most cases, the team of Instagram sends you a reply within 24 hours on the email that you have provided.

You will be asked by them to attach a photo of yourself holding a handwritten copy of a code.

To verify your identity, you have to reply the email with the attachment.

You must include the code, your full name, and your Instagram username in that photo.

Additionally, the photo must be well-lit and should not be too small or blurry.

Once you have taken a satisfactory photo, reply to the email with an attachment of it.

After sending a photo of yourself holding a handwritten copy of a code to Instagram, the next thing you need to do is wait for their response.

Instagram will respond to you in 24 to 48 hours.

Do not forget to check your junk and spam folder for the email as it might be gone there.

You will get instructions via email on how to recover your Instagram account.

To recover your account, you need to follow those instructions.

In the email, you will receive a link to reset your Instagram password.

In order to reset your Instagram password, you need to click that link.

How to Reply to a Specific Instagram Message

To reply to a specific Instagram message, the first thing you need to do is to go to your settings and tap on “Update Messaging”.

After updating messaging, tap and hold the message, then tap on “Reply”, and reply to the DM.

Instagram announced the release of new messaging features in September 2020 such as “Replies”, “Vanish Mode”, and so on.

You can send a response to a specific direct message (DM) on Instagram with “Replies”.

If you are a user of the direct message option on Instagram, you might have seen that some users are sending replies to your messages.

However, when you try to send a reply to a message, you fail to do so because you have not updated the messaging feature yet.

You will not see a “Reply” option by tapping or holding a message if you have not updated messaging.

It will show you the “Copy”, “Report”, and “Save” options.

Here is a step by step guide on how to reply to a specific Instagram message:

Step 1. Go to your Instagram profile & open the menu

  1. Go to the Instagram app.
  2. From the bottom bar, tap on your profile picture.
  3. From your profile, tap on the menu icon.

#1 Tip: You have to update the messaging on Instagram before you can reply to a message on Instagram.

#2 Tip: When the Instagram released new messaging features on Instagram, you’ll be asked to update messaging.

#3 Tip: However, you won’t be taken to do so now, so you have to update messaging manually.

Step 2. Tap on “Settings”

  1. After tapping on the menu icon, it will take you to the menu.
  2. Select “Settings” from the menu.

Just keep in mind that you have to visit your settings in order to update the messaging feature.

Step 3. Tap on “Update Messaging”

  1. After selecting “Settings”, there will be multiple options.
  2. To update the messaging feature, you need to select “Update Messaging”.

#1 Tip: If you haven’t updated messaging yet, it will show you an “Update Messaging” option at the top of your settings.

#2 Tip: If you don’t see the “Update Messaging” feature, Instagram app needs to be updated.

#3 Tip: Unluckily, the feature is not available in some countries in Europe.

Step 4. Update Messaging

  1. After tapping on “Update Messaging”, it will show you the list of new messaging features on Instagram.
  2. To update messaging on the app, you need to tap on the “Update” button.

#1 Tip: You will be able to reply to specific messages on Instagram by updating messaging.

#2 Tip: The “Reply” option will not be visible by holding or tapping a message If you don’t update messaging.

Step 5. Tap & hold the message, then tap on “Reply”

  1. After tapping on “Update”, a “Your messaging has been updated” message will be revealed.
  2. Visit the homepage of Instagram to tap on the “Messenger” icon.
  3. After that, go to the conversation and open it that you want to reply to.
  4. Tap and hold the message.
  5. To reply the message, select the “Reply” option.

#1 Tip: You can swipe left on the message instead of tapping and holding it and select “Reply” to reply to it.

Step 6. Reply to the message

  1. After tapping on “Reply”, it will quote the message.
  2. On the chat bar, type your message and tap on “Send” to send it.

#1 Tip: After sending the message, it will show the person that you’ve replied to them.

#2 Tip: Above the chatbox, you will see a phrase that shows, “You replied”.

The “Last Active” status helps you to find out when someone was last online on Facebook Messenger.

For instance, if someone was last online 33 minutes ago, you’ll see a status that displays “Active 33 m ago”.

The status is available under the name of the person when you open the chat with them.

Alternatively, if the person is currently active, it will show you a green dot on their profile picture.

However, the “Last Active” status is not visible to everyone.

In this guide, I will tell you why you can’t see the “Last Active” status on Facebook Messenger.

I will also tell you that how to tell if someone has turned off their status, and how you can see it.

Why can’t I see “Last Active” on Facebook Messenger?

You can’t see the “Last Active” status on Facebook Messenger because the person has blocked you or it is turned off.

It can also indicate that the user has not been on Facebook for a long time (over 24 hours).

You will not be able to see it if the person has turned off their “Last Active” status.

In addition, the user will not be able to see your status too.

Furthermore, if the person blocked you on Messenger, you will be restricted from viewing their “Last Active” status.

You will see the status if they unblock you.

Other than that, if the user has not been using FB for a long time (over 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week), their “Last Active” status will be hidden.

Reason 1. The person turned off their “Active Status”

You have disabled “Shown when you’re active” setting.

It can be the first cause that the person turned off their “Active Status”.

You can find the setting on the Messenger app after tapping on your profile picture.

After tapping on your profile picture, it will show you an option known as “Active Status”.

If it is turned off, the last active will not be available to your friends and contacts.

The only downside of turning it off is that it will also prevent you from seeing when your friends and contacts were last active too.

Reason 2. You’re blocked

The person has blocked you.

If the person has blocked you on FB messenger, you won’t be able to view the person’s “Last Active” status.

Additionally, the user won’t get any messages or calls from you.

I did a test on two Facebook accounts to prove it:
