How to Fix an Error Occurred While Starting Roblox

The error can occur in more than one location in the hard drive, here are the examples:

Details: C:\Users\John\Roblox\AppData\Local\Roblox\Downloads\roblox-player\.

Details: C:\ProgramData\Roblox\Downloads\roblox-studio\.

If you have installed Roblox in D Drive, it will occur there as well.

In this article, I will tell you how to fix “An error occurred while starting Roblox” or in Roblox Studio in ProgramData/Users.

How to fix an error occurred while starting Roblox

To fix an error occurred while starting Roblox, the first thing is to clear Roblox’s cache.

After removing the cache of Roblox, create a new folder with the name of “Downloads” inside the Roblox folder.

In the end, you have to enable “Run this program as an administrator” and “Disable fullscreen optimizations” for the Roblox Player Beta and Roblox Player Launcher.

#1: Clear Roblox’s cache

  1. Use your keyboard and press “WIN + R” keys.
  2. Search for “%localappdata%”.
  3. Go to the “Temp” folder by opening it.
  4. Delete the “Roblox” folder.

Note: You can also get rid of everything inside the “Temp” folder by deleting it.

#2: Create a new folder with the name “Downloads”

  1. Go back to the “Local” folder from the same folder.
  2. Go to the “Roblox” folder by opening it.
  3. To create a new folder, Right-click > New > Folder.
  4. Name the folder “Downloads”.

#3: Change the compatibility settings

  1. From the same folder, open the “Versions” folder.
  2. Open the version folder (for example, “version-7b56ddc375a46c6”).
  3. Follow these steps: Right-click on RobloxPlayerLauncher > Properties > Compatibility.
  4. Now, enable “Run this program as an administrator” and “Disable fullscreen optimizations” > Apply > OK.
  5. Follow these steps: Right-click RobloxPlayerBeta > Properties > Compatibility.
  6. Now, enable “Run this program as an administrator” and “Disable fullscreen optimizations” > Apply > OK.
  7. Open Roblox or Roblox Studio and it will fix the error!
